About Vic Lehan & Associates
I am a mortgage agent and I run a mortgage business from my home-base at 164 Talbot St. E. Leamington. I have two associates who assist me and speak English and Low German (Platt Deutsch) to aid a broad range of clients. We mostly focus on residential mortgages and help many first time home buyers looking to purchase their dream home.
I have been operating in the mortgage business since January 1999. On the other hand, my associates, Jacob Penner and Margaret Dyck started in 2013 and 2020 respectively. They are quick learners who enjoy solving problems.
I have been with Mortgage Architects since 2007 and they have offered me several advantages to take care of my clients’ needs. Mortgage Architects is a “super broker” with many individual offices from coast to coast and approximately 1,500 agents. Ours is the most southern mortgage office in Canada located in Leamington, Ontario. Mortgage Architects is a modern mortgage company that moves with the times, especially after joining the DLC group of companies. With their support and resources, we are continually working on cutting edge solutions to make things easier and faster for our clients.
Traditionally the mortgage business has seasons of more or less activity. The wintertime is usually the slowest, but by the start of March, business picks up as more people become interested in buying and selling. This high demand for mortgages lasts until around June 30 and then reduces during summer months. However, after the children have returned to school, business picks up again, and this marks the second busiest time of the year for us. It usually lasts right up to Christmas or the end of the year.
Irrespective of the dips and peaks in business, we are readily available six days a week to meet our clients’ needs in Windsor and Essex County (Leamington, Kingsville, Essex). We even provide mortgages all over Ontario, as I am licensed to aid clients across the province.

We offer all types of mortgages for those with the best applications, those rebuilding their situation, for first-time buyers, or those who are separating.

In addition to diverse mortgage options, many times we also offer our clients a lower rate than our competitors can.
In the last few years, my team and I have been consistently in the top 20% of the mortgage agents and brokers with Mortgage Architects across the country. We have received many compliments, testimonials, and referrals from our clients for our stellar services, and have even received recognition from Mortgage Architects.
In the coming years, I hope to expand my team by adding a Spanish speaking mortgage agent so that we can help the ever-growing Latino population in Ontario. It is of utmost importance to be able to communicate with clients so that they can understand how the process works and what they have to do to get a mortgage and buy a house. By speaking the languages that our clients are most comfortable with will encourage better communication and understanding. Moreover, it will help them feel comfortable with our services and their decisions.
With my background as a radio announcer and as a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Course with several years of sales experience, I have also managed to hone my skill as a communicator.
Another reason why communication is essential for my team is because we deal with first-time buyers the most. As they are new to the mortgage industry, they are often unsure of what to do or how to do something. But with patience and attention, it is very easy to teach them about mortgages and help them make their decisions.
Besides working as a mortgage agent, we are always thinking of the world around us. All papers used in our office are recycled in one way or another. Documents with personal information are shredded after use, and things like rate sheets are re-used then shredded or made into scratch pads for office use later. Bottles and cans are put into the blue box and used toner cartridges are taken to a recycling center.
Our company is also active in supporting local events and teams. We have been the sponsor of local sports teams for many years as well as other local activities that raise funds for major causes. These include causes like cancer and MS (multiple sclerosis) and activity and colouring books for children who are re-cuperating in the hospital and fishing day for disabled children, which is run by the area police.
